Wheelbarrow Race 2018
This year the Harvey Warren Trust New Year’s Wheelbarrow Race will be bigger and better than before.
The race will once again take place at 1200 on New Year’s Day around Hampton Park Green.
Fantastic prizes will be on offer for the winners of:
‘Best Fancy Dressed team and wheelbarrow’
‘Most sponsorship raised’ and
‘Fastest Barrow’
All participants will also receive a medal and there will be a raffle for some other fabulous prizes.
The support we had for the event last year was so fantastic and we hope to welcome previous competitors back again this year and will be delighted to see some new faces join the fray.
Once again, Homebase have been kind enough to lend us their wheelbarrows for the occasion. These will be available a few days before and please let us know if you require one to use and dress up for the occasion.
This year, the trustees of Hampton Park Pavilion have been kindly offered the use of the Pavilion so we will be offering Chilli and Gluwein to refresh the competitors after the race with hot dogs or a mild chilli and soft drinks for the children in the warmth of the Pavilion.
This is the fifth year that we are holding this event and in past years, it has been a great opportunity for local residents to meet each other and have a bit of fun. This is, however not just an event for local residents as we have had previous competitors from all over Salisbury and also from Hampshire, Surrey and Devon who have come to show their support for the charity.
